Advance Directives

Advance Directives can allow you to specify the types of medical care you do and do not want if you are unable to speak for yourself at the time such decisions need to be made. This is particularly relevant to people with serious or life-threatening disease, but any of us can be injured in a car accident or by a serious infection at any time. If we have specified our wishes, this removes a huge burden from family members, who otherwise are tasked with these difficult decisions.
